Class Visit

One of the best ways to sample what Barnard has to offer is to sit in on one of our classes. You can view our Fall 2009 list of classes which have been approved for prospective student visitors to find a class offered on the day of your visit. Although no advance appointments are necessary, please note that you will need to stop by the Admissions Office 15 minutes prior to the class start time to find out the location of the class you wish to visit. If you plan to visit a 9 am class, you will need to call or stop in the Admissions Office the day before the class for the class location. You should also consult the Academic Calendar to ensure classes are in session on the day of your visit. Due to space restrictions in classrooms, family members of prospective students will not be able to sit in on classes.

The last day for class visits is Monday, December 7.

Meet with a Coach

Through the Columbia/Barnard Athletic Consortium, women at Barnard College and the undergraduate divisions of Columbia University compete together as members of University-wide athletic teams.    These teams compete at the NCAA Division I level within the Ivy League.   If you are interested in competing on one of our Division I athletic teams, we encourage you to contact the coaches directly to set up a time to speak with them when you visit. Contact Carolyn Middleton, the Barnard athletics liaison, for more information.

Free Time to Explore

Barnard College is located in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Morningside Heights in Manhattan.   While you're visiting our campus, plan additional time to walk around the neighborhood and explore our little "college town" with its wealth of restaurants and shops.   You may also want to visit the Barnard College store, located near the Visitor's Center in the Sulzberger Annex.

The Admissions Office is located in 111 Milbank, at the north end (1 on the map) of the Barnard campus. It is open Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm except for closing at 4 pm before holiday weekends. The office will be closed on Monday, January 19.

The Admissions Visitor Center is located in the Sulzberger Annex, at the south end (2 on the map) of the Barnard campus.
